Macedon Ranges Agribusiness Forum

I am the representative for the apiculture (beekeeping) industry on the Forum and feel that this a great opportunity to highlight, create awareness and assist our industry, there are currently 71 registered beekeepers within Macedon Ranges.

The Macedon Ranges Agribusiness Forum was established and launched on the 26th June 2104 to implement the five year Agribusiness Plan which aims to secure a sustainable agricultural future for the Macedon Ranges.

It will assist the facilitation of industry workshops and networking opportunities and provide opportunities to share the experiences of new and established agricultural landholders.

Membership consists of representatives from various agricultural industry sectors including viticulture (grapes), wool, alpacas, apiculture (beekeeping), sheep, beef and horticulture. Collectively, the Forum provides a voice for local agribusinesses. The focus will be on creating a greater awareness of the sector, addressing the challenges that each industry faces and identifying opportunities for growth and further development.

The Forum is a high priority in the Agribusiness Plan, which recognises the contribution of the agricultural sector to the local economy, and works in partnership with Council, and other key stakeholders, to deliver the actions of the Plan.

The recent launch of the forum saw the introduction of the new Macedon Ranges Agribusiness Video which promotes our region and industries, bees have not been included in this video but we will endeavour to make sure that they are in future videos, but it is a great video that show cases our wonderful environment, I am sure you will enjoy it.
